CZECH REPUBLIC Skanska Property Czech Republic has sold its Balabenka office building in Libeň (Prague 9) to CIB Group.
The seven-storey building offers app. 13,000 sqm of class ‘A’ leasable office and retail space and underground parking for 158 vehicles. It is currently 81 pct leased, with the achor tenants being Komerční banka, ČSOB and Air Telecom. Cushman & Wakefield represented Skanska for the sale. No price has been disclosed for the transaction. “For the CIB Group, the purchase of the Balabenka building is a daring step in fulfilling the investment strategy of increasing the volume of office space in our real estate portfolio (…) Balabenka is an architecturally exceptional building, and a first-rate office building equipped the with the most modern technologies providing tenants with a high standard of use. The financing partner in the acquisition is our regular partner GE Money Bank,” commented Alois Přibyl, the chief financial officer of CIB Group. Skanska bought the building, formerly known as Vysočanská brána, for EUR 20 mln Orco in 2010.
